Study Program Evaluation
This Higher Technical Professional Course is a vocational training course taught as part of polytechnic higher education and lasts 4 semesters, corresponding to 120 ECTS.
The course is
organised into general and scientific training, technical training and work-based training (internship), with each student being awarded a Higher Technical Professional Diploma at level 5 of the European Qualifications Framework for Lifelong Learning.
Professional profile
The Higher Technical Professional Course in Industrial Maintenance aims to train professionals who are able to manage and supervise maintenance departments at small, medium or large industrial companies, especially in the electromechanics field. They will also be able to implement and adopt preventive or corrective maintenance on its various aspects, according to structural changes in production systems demanded by technology evolution.

High-level staff in the field of industrial maintenance; mid-level staff in industrial companies; head of maintenance department; head of technical services; head of multidisciplinary teams in the field of industrial maintenance; head of post-sales care; head of workshop; technical and sales activities in companies that supply materials for the electrical/electronics industry and the metalwork/metal mechanics industry.
Entry requirements (one of the following)
- Having completed a secondary education course qualification or a legally equivalent qualification.
- Having passed the special exams for assessing capacity to attend higher education for people over 23 (Decree-Law no. 64/2006 of 21 March).
- Holding a technological specialisation diploma, higher technical professional diploma or higher level qualification.
